Which software can be used to determine color coordinates of a part of a picture?

I need to take pictures of different products and identify their colors (by color coordinates or any other means). I think that picture editing software may have this feature, but I am not very familiar with that type of software. Wherever you place the cursor will then show you the RGB values of the pixel underneath. Other programs probably have a similar capability.
