Is it safe to use software to transfer from iPod to iTunes?

All my songs are on my old computer, which can no longer get connected to the internet. However, a lot of those songs are on my iPod. I am thinking about using some downloadable software for my new Mac to get these songs onto my new bare iTunes library. Is it safe? Is it legal? Are there any foreseeable implications?

Thanks in advance. Is it safe to use software to transfer from iPod to iTunes?Well, Im not sure about downloads that do this, but I have used a program downloaded off a CD in the past. Its called Tune Transfer, and all you do is buy the cd (you can probably get it cheap off ebay or something) then download it onto your new computer. Plug your iPod into the new computer, and open the tune transfer software, and sync all your songs to it. Once you've done this you can move it over to iTunes from within the program (there are detailed instructions the come with the CD).

And its great, because once you download Tune Transfer onto your computer you dont need the CD anymore, so you can sell it to one of your friends and get your money back :)Is it safe to use software to transfer from iPod to iTunes?
You can try 4Easysoft iPod Manager for Mac

http://www.squidoo.com/how-to-transfer-and-backup-ipod-files-windows-mac

Key Features:

1. Full-featured Mac iPod Manager to manage iPod files

It can import video/audio files to iPod directly without iTunes and transfer iPod video/audio to Mac without any loss.

2. Detect iPod/iPhone info directly

Once you connect it, the specific info about the devices can be shown: iPod type, iPod capacity, iPod version, serial number, format, and the aavailable space, used space.

3. Quick search

For you to detect iPod files exactly and easily, the “Track Filter” function can categorize the files as Genre, Artist, Album.

4. Manage playlist

You can add or delete playlist or its contents.

Hope this is helpful. Is it safe to use software to transfer from iPod to iTunes? This is usually a safe method of getting music from your iPod. If you own all of your music through buying it on iTunes or buying the CD this is perfectly legal. Since you aren't sharing it with someone it isn't illegal. I see you having no problems with this method.

However, I would suggest using a USB external hard drive or flash drive to transfer music to your new computer. Almost all computers have a USB port (unless made before 1997-98 time frame.) This is generally easier and probably faster. Both methods will work though.
