If you're just going to just enhance the photos --adjusting brightness %26amp; contrast, blur some parts, crop, colorize then download a free software called PICASA from www.picasa.com. It's very user-friendly especially if you're a beginner in photo editing. It also has additional stuff like creating video presentations with your photos.
If you're going to do major stuff with it like composing it with other photos, digital graphics, the best software is still Adobe Photoshop. You can buy it online at amazon.com but it takes time learn and be really familiar with it.
