How can I transfer software programmes from an old computer to a new one?

I've installed a software programme on an old computer called Audio Mulch. It was a (legal) download so doesn't come with a disk, so how can I transfer it to my new computer? I'd hate to have to pay for something which I already have just to get the programme onto my new computer, but I'd also hate to lose Audio Mulch.

If you still have Audio Mulch 1.0 installed on your computer you can find your version 1.0 licence key in the Registry using RegEdit. From the Windows Start menu choose Run, type regedit, click OK, browse to: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Ross Bencina\AudioMulch\1.0\Registered User.



If this is a bit beyond you, then they charge a small fee to retrieve the key for you, just get in touch with them.

You will have to copy the original .exec file from your old computer.



If you just downloaded and installed it as a run file and not a saved .exec file then sorry your out of luck.



You just can't copy a program, it has to be installed properly.



You try and copy it and it wont work because you leave a load of files behind that are

Most Programmes that are installed have files scattered about in various folders, so you probably cannot copy it to new pc.
